Brisbane City Council has recently changed the way they relate to people with Town Planning enquiries. Previously, one could ring a Customer Liaison Officer and discuss any of the multitude of questions associated with a planning application.
Not anymore! You now have to make an appointment and go to one of the Regional Offices to speak to a town planner (for no more than 15 minutes). This makes it not only very difficult for the “mums and dads” who want to make a planning application but even difficult for a qualified planner who may have a highly technical question to resolve.
Surely Council aren’t trying to force everyone to have a Pre-lodgement meeting at $ 1030 each?
A 5 minute phone call that saves hours of work for Council in Assessments and Information Request must save time and money for everyone.
